college interview with Dr.Jenkins

Every seniors of high school are busy to be prepared for college at the time when junior life is almost done and at the beginning of senior year. Now all seniors are focusing and concentrating on colleges or universities. Preparing colleges, copious documents are shouting at students to fill them out. It is the time students need some advisors when even only one misspelled document can harshly hurt them.
I am junior right now, and I have a lot of interest in colleges. So I kind of investigated Dr.Jenkins, our Saipan International school’s headmaster, about his college life. He had graduated from a school called Whittier College in California with a major of science education. When he was a freshman in college, he wanted to be a lawyer but as the time goes, he was just not that interest in lawyer. So he had been changed his mind.
The important materials for college were basically GPA (grade point average), scores of ACT, SAT, TOEFL, and also community services. In order to get closer with professors, students really must ask questions a lot, be prepared like what honor students usually do, daily discuss the subject about what they have learned, and visit them individually in offices. Dr.Jenkins said that there is a system which professor and some particular students who are specifically studying about the subject of the particular professor live together and often discuss about the subject repeatedly.
During Dr.Jenkins’ freshman and senior years lots of differences were occurred. When he was freshman, he was out of nowhere, and when he became senior, he knows professors, takes only classes that he wants, becomes harder, and the relationship between professors becomes closer. For his extracurricular activities, he took sports line like track and field for 2 years. And extracurricular activities are really good experiences to get to know other people and to use time more wisely.
Lastly, he said the college is necessary for a life because it is a great experience and probable the best time in one’s life. It helps to find what you want, learn so much about yourself, others, and the world that is worth. Also, it helps to prepare you for greater opportunities that are open to you. So truly, trying to get accepted in colleges is a good experience to challenge in one and only life.
